Player Indonesian National Team Justin Hubner made his debut as a starter in the J League with Cerezo Osaka when facing defending champion Vissel Kobe, at the Yodoko Sakura Stadium, Saturday (11/5) afternoon Indonesian time.
Hubner made his debut as a core player for the Sakura squad in the 13th week of the J League this season. The player who was on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers became a central defender and teamed up with Koji Toriumi.
Cerezo’s goal broke in the 38th minute. Vissel captain Kobe Hotaro Yamaguchi put the visitors ahead. Six minutes later, fullback Yuki Honda gave Vissel Kobe a 2-0 lead.

The second half had only been running for four minutes, Vissel Kobe scored the third goal. This time through former Japanese national team striker Yuya Osako.
Cerezo was only able to respond through Leo Ceara’s goal in the 57th minute.
Hubner did not play fully in this match. In the 75th minute, the player who had seven caps in the Indonesian National Team was replaced by Hiroshi Kiyotake.
Without Hubner at the back, Cerezo conceded again in the third minute of injury time through Taisei Miyashiro’s goal.
Cerezo is currently ranked fifth in the J League with 20 points.
Before starting the Cerezo vs Vissel Kobe match, Hubner had only played twice in the Japanese league, for three minutes against Albirex Niigata and two minutes against Kawasaki Frontale. Cerezo won full points thanks to a 1-0 win in these two matches.
Meanwhile, Hubner’s other cap with Cerezo was obtained when he played 90 minutes in the J League Cup against Iwate Grulla Morioka.
In the last month, Hubner has played mostly with the Indonesian U-23 National Team in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. After the young Garuda team failed to reach third place, Hubner joined Cerezo and did not take part in the 2024 Olympic playoff match against Guinea.
