King Charles III, 75, will undergo a “medical procedure” next week in a London clinic for an “enlarged prostate” problem. Buckingham Palace announced this today, shortly after the news of the hospitalization of Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, wife of the heir to the throne and eldest son of the sovereign, William, for an apparently much more significant surgery.
Buckingham Palace underlines that it is a benign pathology but King Charles is still expected to go to hospital next week for a “corrective operation”. “Like thousands of men every year – they underline – the king needs treatment for his enlarged prostate.” Commitments will be postponed as long as necessary for what is expected to be a short recovery period.
