During last monthās Business Update, Phil Spencer explained that Microsoft is absolutely not abandoning the hardware market, on the contrary: there are several hardware projects in the pipeline, including the new next generation console and a defined device āinnovativeā. And now it seems that something is starting to move.
The Korean electronic device certification body has in fact just published certification Of a new XDK, i.e. the Xbox Developer Kit: A special version of the console used by video game developers. Typically, this type of certification occurs when a new device is about to hit the market: in fact, the previous Dev Kit certification from the same body dates back to June 2020, when Microsoft was preparing to provide the Xbox Series
What does this mean? It is very likely that this indicates the arrival of a new Xboxletās imagine a refresh mid-gen like the previous one Xbox One X; and the timing of the certification indicates that the refresh could arrive at the end of the year, in the September-October period.
