[Global Network Report]According to Yonhap News, South Korea’s ruling party’s presidential candidate of the Common Democratic Party and Governor of Gyeonggi Province, Lee Jae, will hold a press conference tomorrow to announce his resignation as Governor of the Province and concentrate on preparing for the presidential election.

Lee Jae-Ming stated that public office is not power but responsibility. As a public official, he has fulfilled his duties to fulfill his promises to voters in Gyeonggi Province. Lee Jae-Ming promised that he will serve 50 million people. Although he deeply feels the great responsibility, he will earnestly perform his duties and mission and make South Korea a fair and just country.

According to reports, Lee Jae-Ming has served as the governor of Gyeonggi Province since July 2018. In view of the opinions of the party leadership that it is difficult to concentrate on running for the president while performing the governorship, Lee Jae-Ming decided to resign from the governorship. Li Zaiming’s term as governor of the province ended at 12 o’clock that night, more than a month earlier than the legal resignation time limit (December 9).
