In a video he has posted on social media, Mbappé states that he is leaving PSG at the end of the season. It happens after he has been disconnected from the club for a long time.
The superstar’s contract at PSG expires at the end of the season.
– I am not going to extend and the adventure will be over within a few weeks, says Mbappé in the video.
He will play his last game at PSG’s home ground Parc des Princes on Sunday when the club face Toulouse.
– There are a lot of emotions. For many years I have had the chance and the honor of being part of the biggest French club and one of the biggest in the world, he continues.
The 25-year-old does not say in the video where the journey goes, but he reveals that he is leaving France and the French league.
He has for a long time been strongly linked to Real Madrid, and several media have previously reported that he has already signed for the Spanish big club.
– It is difficult, and I never thought it would be so difficult to announce this. Leaving my country, France and Ligue 1, but I think I need this. A new challenge after seven years, says Mbappé.
During his time at PSG, Mbappé has helped win the French league six times and the French Cup three times.
However, there has been no Champions League triumph. In the 2019/20 season, he came closest when PSG lost the final. Earlier this week, Mbappé and PSG crashed out of the semi-finals of this year’s Champions League after losing to Borussia Dortmund.
During the seven years at PSG, he has scored a whopping 255 goals in 306 games for the French club.
