Now the turning point: Lauterbach is newly in love, he has a partner again! The relationship became known at the beginning of 2024. The 60-year-old has found new private happiness with Elisabeth Niejahr (58). Niejahr is a well-known business journalist and has often appeared on TV talk shows in recent years – even with Lauterbach’s favorite host Markus Lanz. Between 2013 and 2019 she was a regular on the monthly rbb talk show “Thadeusz and the Observers”.

Her career began at “Spiegel”, later she moved to “Zeit” and finally as chief reporter to “Wirtschaftswoche”. She also wrote several books. Since 2020, Niejahr, who has a daughter, has been managing director of the “Strengthening Democracy” department of the non-profit Hertie Foundation. Lauterbach has a real career woman at his side who is also well connected in political Berlin.
