TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Persija Jakarta picked up three points when they hosted Persis Solo in the 31st week Liga 1. In the match which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 17 2024, the match which was marked by two red cards ended with a score of 1-0 in favor of the home team.

Persija actually had a big chance to score lots of goals because they were superior in number of players from the 19th minute following the red card received by Gavin Kwan Adsit. However, Marko Simic and his colleagues were unable to score even though they created many opportunities throughout the first half.

In the Persis camp, even though they were outnumbered, Alexis Messidoro and his colleagues were still able to put up resistance. They also threatened Persija’s defense several times, but were unable to optimize it.

In the second half, the fierce match continued. But Thomas Doll’s team still had difficulty breaking through Persis’ goal which was guarded by goalkeeper Gialuca Pandeynuwu.

While still trying to score a goal, Persija had to lose Syahrian Abimanyu who was sent off by the referee after receiving a second yellow card in the 72nd minute. However, when playing with ten players, the Kemayoran Tigers were able to score a goal through Simic seven minutes later.

Simic was finally able to break through Persis’ goal after successfully heading in a cross sent by Ondrej Kudela from the right wing. This goal was greeted by the roar of Persija fans who filled the stadium. The Croatian striker also jumped out of the field to celebrate his goal.

Simic’s goal determined Persija’s victory in this match. With the addition of these three points, the Kemayoran Tigers now have 41 points, climbing to tenth place in the League 1 standings. Meanwhile, Persis is in eighth place with 44 points.
