The points margin was also thin from the start of the game. The Warriors only had time to open up the gap in the second half with a maximum lead of 16 points. The Lakers turned things around after going 13-4 in four minutes of normal time.
But the Lakers’ victory had to be postponed. The Warriors twice extended their breath through Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. In the final half, the Lakers closed the game with a 27-26 lead. The Lakers’ final two points via LeBron’s free throws dashed the Warriors’ hopes.
“I can tell about this game to my grandchildren. A match about my ability to compete against one of the greatest players ever. “Hopefully this will be a cool story,” said LeBron about his rivalry with Curry in this game.
LeBron achieved his third triple double of the season. He collected 36 points, 20 rebounds and 12 assists. Playing for 47 minutes, LeBron scored 14 shots (25 attempts) and did not miss 6 free throws.
Anthony Davis doubled with 29 points and 13 rebounds plus 4 blocks. D’Angelo Russell followed with 28 points, 5 assists and 2 steals. Austin Reaves helped with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Jarred Vanderbilt provided 14 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. And Rui Hachimura 11 points.
The Lakers were effective with 49 shots (101 attempts). They got the advantage through 38 free throws (43 attempts). Meanwhile, the Warriors bombarded with 23 three points from 55 shots on target (119 attempts).
Curry was the game’s top scorer with 46 points and 7 assists. Curry made 17 shots on target (35 attempts) with 9 three-pointers. Andrew Wiggins and Jonathan Kuminga are identical with 22 points. Draymond Green contributed with 14 rebounds and 11 assists. And Klay Thompson 24 points. (rag)
