The hunt for direct promotion to the Premier League is heating up at the moment, and on Friday there were changes in the top tier.
Ipswich did the job and beat Blackburn 1-0, and when Leeds played 2-2 against Watford, the former club could celebrate being league leaders. That separates one point down to Leeds in second place.
Leicester, who are two points behind Ipswich, lost 0-1 against Bristol City on Friday.
The top two move up directly, while the next four go into promotion qualification.
Ipswich have not been in the top division since the 2001/02 season, when they finished third last time.
Sondre Tronstad played the entire game for Blackburn in Friday’s loss against the new league leader. Conor Chaplin scored the only goal after nine minutes.
Leo Hjelde came on from the bench 20 minutes before the end as Sunderland beat Cardiff 2-0. Hjelde and Sunderland are number twelve in the table.
