“Let’s Dance”: Tony Bauer surprisingly leaves

“Let’s Dance” participant Tony Bauer has completely unexpectedly announced his departure from the show. Opposite RTL said the 28-year-old: “I have to reduce the load. That’s why I’m now forced to listen to my body so as not to permanently endanger anything.” The situation makes him “so sad.” The background is the comedian’s medical history: since an operation he no longer has a small intestine and is therefore artificially fed.

However, Bauer also announced in his statement that he would be seen one last time in show nine of “Let’s Dance”. The show’s motto is “Magic Moments”, and the comedian doesn’t want to miss out on the appearance. “It is my wish to still dance the ‘Magic Moment’ tomorrow. For Anastasia, for all of you and for the wonderful ‘Let’s Dance’ family, but also for me,” he said. He also thanked us for the wonderful time and promised that we would see him again.

Bauer suffers from short bowel syndrome, which is why his small intestine had to be removed. He relies on a regular supply of nutrients and wears a backpack to which he is connected via a tube, the “tube of life”, as he calls it. “I just asked God not to get any more luck, just a little less bad luck. “I just wanted to be a normal boy,” the farmer, who was born in Dinslaken, North Rhine-Westphalia, reported during the season. Because life wasn’t easy for him, he wanted to make people laugh.

Ann-Kathrin Bendixen is coming back

A replacement has already been found for the comedian: Ann-Kathrin Bendixen, who was eliminated in show eight, will take Bauer’s place, as RTL announced. She and her dance partner Valentin Lusin will also take the place of Bauer and his dance partner Anastasia Stan in the dance duels. They dance the Boogie Woogie against Gabriel Kelly and Malika Dzumaev.

Bendixen, a motorcycle world traveler and influencer, said in a video posted to her Instagram story on Thursday evening: “I’m in complete shock. I don’t know how it’s supposed to work – how are you supposed to remember two dances in three hours or so? – I’ll keep fighting!” And: Tony would have granted her the final and the victory.

Professional dancer Valentin Lusin also said in an Instagram story: “It’s going to be a long night session today.” He doesn’t want to be in Ann-Kathrin’s shoes. And: “It’s really very, very short-term. We’ll do our best to get something going tonight. We still have half a day tomorrow.” The other couples had almost a whole week to prepare.
