The Colombian U-20 women’s team is showing an impressive performance in the South American category held in Ecuador.

With five wins in five games, the team has demonstrated both its skill and its determination. Those led by Carlos Paniagua, together with Brazil, have established themselves as the best team, so far, in the tournament.

In fact, they aspire not only to the South American title, but also to prepare in the best way for the U-20 Women’s World Cup that will take place this year on their own soil, in Colombia.

And this Monday, from 6:30 pm, with transmission on Gol Caracol and Canal Caracol (HD2 signal), the ‘Canarinha’ will be measured for the third date of the final hexagonal.

The match between Colombia and Brazil was exciting. The duels have mostly been played in the middle of the playing field, but the ‘canarinha’ has had more projection in attack. An example of this was the goal in a still ball action. However, Colombia has played well and has stood up to the Brazilian team. More emotions are expected for the second part.

The duel takes place in the middle of the field. The Brazilians desperately search for the goal, while the Colombians defend themselves well and challenge the ‘canarinha’ players face to face.

In the 25th minute, one of the rivals shot from mid-range and the ball hit the post. It was almost the first goal of the match.

The precedent with Brazil

Colombia already faced Brazil in the first phase of the tournament. That match, which culminated in a 2-1 Colombian victory, was an unprecedented result in the category and a psychological blow in favor of the Colombians, who showed that they can overcome giants of women’s soccer in the region.

The importance of this match cannot be underestimated. A victory would not only put Colombia in a privileged position to claim the championship, but would also serve as a perfect morale boost before the World Cup, which will be in August.

How has Colombia fared?

In the group stage, Colombia marked territory with three consecutive victories, establishing a precedent of strength and cohesion.

Already in the final hexagonal, the team has continued its winning streak, securing victories against Peru and Venezuela, with scores of 1-0 and 3-2 respectively.

These wins not only consolidated their position, but also raised the team’s morale.
