“This story talks about a festival, a vintage-pop festival, which has been animating the Lucca spring for a few years now. It is the story of a passionate public, of passions and collections, of authors loved by readers. And of a writer, screenwriter, presenter and author who with his work has shown us all the nuances of noir and crime, including news events, mysteries and unforgettable literary characters. It starts on March 23, 2024 in Lucca… but that’s another story”.
We could only paraphrase the unforgettable incipits with which he began the episodes of his show “Blu Notte” to announce the next guest of Lucca Collezionando: Carlo Lucarelli will be among the authors of the next edition of the spring event most loved by fans of collecting, comics, gaming, and all forms of “slow” entertainment, enjoyed at a slower pace.
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March in fact, the fair organized by Lucca Create (a company that also organizes Lucca Comics & Games), in collaboration with the Municipality of Lucca, now in its seventh edition. And precisely in this prestigious setting, Carlo Lucarelli chose to present Julian, the graphic novel published by Cut-Up Publishing which he wrote together with Stefano Fantelli, with drawings by Marcello Mangiantini and colors by Letizia Castagna. The author and publisher chose this setting for an absolute preview: the title will arrive in bookshops and online stores in June.
An extraordinary opportunity for the public to meet the author, present at the Cut-Up Publishing stand, who with his unique style accompanies the discovery of unsolved crimes and mysteries that have marked the news of recent decades; creator of literary universes in which styles and genres come together in a happy connection, giving chills and strong emotions.
Also in this edition, Lucca Collezionando will stand out for the opportunities offered to the public to enjoy a fair focused on meeting special guests, learning more, spending time enjoying one’s passions to the fullpassed down from generation to generation. Among the first guests already announced, in addition to Carlo Lucarelli Daniele Caluri, author of the original poster of this edition, and Giancarlo Alessandrini, master of Italian comics known in particular for being the visual “father” of Martin Mystère, of which he is the graphic creator, author of all the covers and main designer for a long period.
