Pleasant spring temperatures with lots of sunshine attracted 40,000 spectators to Lucerneā€™s old town. ā€œWith 14,038 people registered, our expectations were fully met,ā€ Andreas GrĆ¼ter, the managing director of the Lucerne City Run, was quoted as saying in a press release.

The family category with 6,450 registered participants once again represented the main challenge of the city run. The number of company groups is also very pleasing, with 2,700 registered. The student categories were also popular, which helped bring the event back to the folk festival.

From the perspective of the police and the medical department, the event went off without any major incidents. Two people had to be hospitalized.
