Sarah Bonnici was born on May 30, 1998 and worked as an accountant until she decided to focus fully on her music career. She sang in the choir as a child and later took part in various music competitions. Her desire to represent Malta at the ESC also developed early on. In 2009 and 2010 she took part in Malta’s preliminary round for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. In 2010 she was not there as a performer, but as a background singer and dancer at the Junior ESC in Minsk. The Busker and Yulan Law appeared as guests

The “Malta Eurovision Song Contest” took a lot of time for the twelve acts in the final. Only after three hours was Sarah Bonnici the winner of the evening. Before that, a few guest stars appeared – also via live-on-tape recording – such as last year’s candidates The Busker or Yulan Law, Malta’s junior ESC candidate 2023. Several former ESC acts sent greetings to the show via video messages – such as Serhat, who represented San Marino twice. With “Loop”, a pop song now had the honor of representing Malta at the ESC. In the end, however, this seemed to lack that certain something to bring the island nation forward in the music competition.
