Manchester City makes no mistakes and outclasses Copenhagen in the second leg too. The 3-1 with which Guardiola’s men once again eliminated the courageous Copenhagen at the Etihad earned them passage to the quarter-finals, as well as their eighth success in as many outings in this edition of the competition. The game was put on ice after just 10 minutes thanks to goals from Akanji and Alvarez (on a sensational duck from Grabara), then the usual Haaland took over. The Norwegian, in fact, definitively closes the score in the second half with his 41st goal in 37 matches played in the Champions League: the striker equals Kun Agueri and targets Alessandro Del Piero, the next champion in the ranking of strikers in the tournament. For the Danes, Elyonoussi’s huge 1-2 goal was worth nothing: Neestrup’s team leaves this Champions League with their heads held high, with many youngsters showing off in such an important showcase.
