The English football record champions Manchester United have suffered a serious setback in the race for a place in international business. The Red Devils missed the jump to sixth place due to an unexpected 0:4 (0:2) defeat at Crystal Palace and, as eighth in the table, still have to worry about their desired participation in a European Cup competition.
For Manchester, former Bundesliga coach Oliver Glasner’s London club went on a run of four games without defeat, with a total of just six points.
Michael Olise with a brace (12th and 66th) as well as ex-Mainz player Jean-Philippe Mateta (40th) and Tyrick Mitchell (58th) sealed the guests’ eighth away defeat.
After their fourth success in the last five matches without defeat, Glasner’s team can still hope for a place in the top half of the final table at the end of the season.
