Mari Maurstad (66) has long since become a household name in most homes in this country.
She made her debut at the National Stage in Bergen in 1978, and since 1981 she has been a permanent employee at the Nationaltheateret. Since then she has played countless different roles.
Not only is she on stage, but Maurstad has also worked as a voice actor. Most of us have probably heard Mari’s voice in well-known children’s films such as “Donald Duck” and “The Lion King”.
In recent times, Norwegian TV viewers have seen the 66-year-old take part in the TV 2 success “Sofa”. She participated there with her three sons, namely Scott, Stinius and Aslak.

The three sons have also gradually become well known to the Norwegian people. The family has really charmed the viewers in the TV program “Sofa” with their wonderful humor and energy.
All three have been very successful in their areas of the cultural industry, and there is no doubt that they have grown up in a home with a fabulous actress as a mother.
Scott Maurstad is a voice actor, Stinius is a violinist and Aslak Maurstad has been seen on the screen a lot lately.
Among other things, he has participated in Farmen kendis, Forræder, and Aslak impressed greatly in Skal vi danse where he finished in second place.
The Maurstad family opens up at Lindmo
I Friday’s episode of “Lindmo” on NRK, mum Mari and her sons are in the studio with Anne Lindmo.
Here, the family lifts the veil on, among other things, growing up at Ris in Oslo.
– We grew up a bit on the west side then and I remember my first day of school at secondary school. The students stand and compare Canada Goose jackets, last year’s and this year’s model. Then I come walking into the schoolyard wearing a hat with a pink cock’s comb. A kind of ski suit from the 1970s and various socks. You (Mari. journ.anm) just stepped on us and said “Now you were nice,” says Scott Maurstad and continues:
– I feel that it has contributed to us being able to be a little safe in being weird. We are grateful for that. I think.
Aslak Maurstad goes on to say that Mari was concerned that things should not be perfect
Mari Maurstad’s poignant words about Aslak
Mari Maurstad says that she is so “proud of volumes 1, 2 and 3 of the collected works”, which are her sons.
At the same time, she is not surprised by everything they have achieved.
– They were crazy right from the time they were little. They had ambitions and they showed signs that something could become of them, but I’m really proud, Mari exclaims in the episode.
When asked by Lindmo what has surprised the most out of everything the sons have embarked on, she replies:
– It must probably be Aslak. I don’t know how many days you (Aslak. journ. note) have been in the hospital with the horrible disease, arthritis. So when he came second in “Shall we dance” is incredibly impressive, says Mari.
