María Corina Machado assured that the Venezuelan opposition is ready to participate in the presidential elections

The leader of the Venezuelan opposition, María Corina Machado, has called on her followers to support the presidential candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform, Edmundo González Urrutia, in the upcoming elections on July 28. During a massive event held in the state of Zulia, Machado emphasized the importance of the region in the fight against the Chavista regime and praised González Urrutia as a respectable man.

“We have a candidate: Edmundo González Urrutia!” Machado declared to the applause of the crowd. “We are ready!”. She urged all those who have trusted her to vote for González Urrutia with energy and joy on election day.

Zulia residents responded to Machado’s speech with the slogan “Zulia is with you.” The region has been deeply affected by daily power outages and the decline of the oil industry due to corruption and lack of investment.

Machado promised to bring various investments to Zulia to make it the most prosperous state in Latin America. She has been touring several states in the country, rallying support for González Urrutia and vowing to put an end to socialism in Venezuela in the upcoming elections.

However, Machado’s campaign has faced challenges, with several members of her team being arrested and others seeking refuge in the residence of the Argentine ambassador in Caracas. González Urrutia is one of the 10 candidates, including current president Nicolás Maduro, running in the elections.

Despite obstacles and disqualifications preventing Machado from competing for public office, González Urrutia has emerged as the standard bearer of the opposition party. The political landscape in Venezuela remains contentious as the country prepares for a crucial election on July 28.
