“María Corina Machado to Commemorate 66th Anniversary of January 23 Events at Plaza Altamira”

Presidential candidate María Corina Machado, of the Unitary Platform, will be commemorating the 66th anniversary of the events of January 23, 1958 at Plaza Altamira. The event will also serve as the platform for the presentation of her Gana (Grand National Alliance) platform. Despite Chavismo installing a platform at the meeting point, Machado has reaffirmed the call to gather at Plaza Altamira through her social networks.

In response to the actions of the current regime, Machado criticized their oppressive tactics and emphasized that the people are determined to live in freedom. She also condemned acts of vandalism at her party’s headquarters in the states of Mérida and Bolívar, stating that such actions will not intimidate the people’s will for change.

Machado also addressed the regime’s concerns about the upcoming elections, stating, “What is it that worries you? What is bothering you? What are we calling for elections? That the town woke up from end to end? That the people don’t want them and want to get them out now? We are going down an electoral route and they are not going to take us out of there.”

The presidential candidate invited supporters to join her at Plaza Altamira and also shared the message on Twitter, stressing the start of the campaign and expressing determination to move forward despite repression from the current regime.

As the presidential campaign gains momentum, the political climate in Venezuela remains charged. The 66th anniversary event at Plaza Altamira marks a significant moment for the Unitary Platform and María Corina Machado, as they prepare to take on the challenges ahead.
