Editing the newsletter PLENARY This month highlights the delivery of the Seals to the state’s Electoral Offices: an award that highlights the commitment and efficiency of the electoral zones, analyzing various management requirements. Five electoral zones achieved the Gold Seal, and thirteen received the Silver Seal, thus recognizing the excellent service provided to Sergipe society.

The first Special Matter highlights the lecture on institutional security, given by judge Paulo Alcântara, from the Regional Labor Court of the 6th Region (TRT-6). The target audience were judges, electoral prosecutors and civil servants. The objective: to raise the level of awareness about the importance of security in institutions.

The second Special Matter pays homage to judge Iolanda Santos Guimarães. Last month, the judge assumed the responsibilities of the vice-presidency and the Electoral Inspectorate of TRE-SE, replacing judge Ana Lúcia Freire de Almeida dos Anjos, who assumed the interim presidency of TRE-SE due to judge Diógenes’ vacation. The third Special Article highlights the 13th National Hardware Simulation, which took place from April 1st to 18th, 2024. The event aimed to identify hardware failures, including those that manifest themselves intermittently or in specific situations. These failures must be recorded for later analysis of their causes and for the creation of solutions before the ordinary election, which will be held, in the first round, on October 6th.

The fourth Special Article discusses the closure of electoral registration. Voters have until May 8 to obtain their title or regularize their electoral situation and vote in the October municipal election. Due to the approaching closure, the Regional Electoral Court of Sergipe (TRE-SE) extended opening hours at electoral offices. Data provided by the Information Technology Secretariat (STI) revealed significant mobilization of voters across the state.

Finally, the Electoral Memory painting tells about the emergence of Electoral Justice. In 1932, the idea of ​​centralizing the management of elections in the Judiciary was consolidated. From that date on, the Electoral Court became responsible for all parameters of the electoral process: registration, organization of voting tables, counting of votes, recognition and proclamation of those elected, in addition to judging issues related to electoral matters.
