Inter Miami arrested Colorado Rapids 2-2 in continuation MLS this season. Lionel Messi has appeared again after recovering from injury and scored one goal.
Playing at Chase Stadium, Sunday (7/4/2024) morning WIB, Miami trailed 0-1 in the 45th minute via a penalty scored by Rafael Navarro. However, Messi, who only entered in the second half, managed to equalize the score in the 58th minute.
The Argentine striker completed Franco Negri’s cross with a measured shot into the left corner of the Rapids goal which goalkeeper Zack Steffen couldn’t reach.

Miami took the lead two minutes later after Leo Afonso got his name on the scoreboard. Messi also contributed to the process of this goal. He sent a through ball to David Ruiz who then passed the ball to Afonso in the penalty box.
With a shot into the left corner, the Brazilian striker rattled Steffen’s goal. The score is 2-1.
However, Miami’s victory that was in sight was instantly shattered in the 88th minute. Cole Bassett completed Calvin Harris’ diagonal pass from the right side to find Drake Callender’s goal from close range. The 2-2 score lasted until the end.
This result means Miami failed to climb to the top of the standings and only sits in third place in the MLS eastern region standings with 12 points from eight matches.
They will next compete against Monterrey in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup quarter-finals on Thursday (11/4) at 09.30 WIB. Miami lost 1-2 in the first leg.
