Mayor Angela Schuh received representatives from the company MGM Empresa Construtora LTDA., from the city of Pelotas, which was recently selected through a public call launched by the City Hall to build 100 apartments under the federal program Minha Casa, Minha Vida (MCMV).
The apartment towers will be built on Rua Gregório da Fonseca, opposite Emei Pro-Infância Patrona Marisa Timm Sari and Cras Cidadania. Each property will be 41.5 square meters, with a balcony, according to company architect Letícia Aguilera Larrosa da Rocha.
At the request of the engineer sent by the company Diegos Domingos Lionso, in addition to the person responsible for the Housing sector, Cristiano Lima, and the director of the Municipal Secretariat for Social Inclusion, Carin Ache, the employees of the works secretariat, engineer Muriel Mença da Silva and the head of monitoring the actions of the City of Cachoeira do Sul, Fabiane Félix Torres, who gave instructions on the rules for licensing works in the municipality.
The architect Caroline Martins Machado was also invited, who gave tips on the City’s Master Plan, and the regional superintendent of Corsan/Aegea, João Batista Corim da Rosa and the local manager of the NeorildoDassi unit, who indicated that there were no major difficulties in supplying the electricity networks. water supply and sewage on site.
Ivan Soares de Almeida, a graduate student in Architecture and Urbanism from UFSM/Cachoeira, was also invited to complete his coursework addressing the situation of housing demand in the municipality.

The company MGM Construtora has a broad portfolio of works carried out using different technologies, sizes and complexities, operating in the real estate, industrial, commercial, institutional and infrastructure sectors. Caixa Federal’s Housing Coordinator, Alexandres Reis, commented that the company is already known to Caixa due to other projects that MGM signed for MCMV in other municipalities. The company originated in 1986 with its main branch of activity being the execution of civil construction works.
MGM technicians carried out the initial inspection of the land and also consulted the Municipal Environment Secretariat in order to obtain information on the procedures relating to environmental licensing and subsequent compensation for native trees that will have to be felled to clear the land and begin the construction.
They also sought information about companies in the earthmoving and topography sectors and that work with environmental licensing in the municipality. “We will bring the people in charge and the basic material for construction. A large part of the services will be outsourced and we can even hire the workforce on site”, observes engineer Lionso.
