Yogyakarta – The Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to paying attention to equality in sports for people with disabilities. One of these concrete efforts is holding Sports Human Resource Training for Persons with Disabilities for three days, 1 to 3 May 2024 at the Riss Hotel Malioboro, Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta – The Ministry of Youth and Sports is committed to paying attention to equality in sports for people with disabilities. One of these concrete efforts is by holding Sports Human Resource Training for Persons with Disabilities for three days, 1 to 3 May 2024 at the Riss Hotel Malioboro, Yogyakarta. This activity, which was designed with the concept of 40% discussion in class and 60% field practice, was attended by 150 Special School (SLB) teachers in Yogyakarta from all levels of education.

Assistant Deputy for Sports for Persons with Disabilities, Ibnu Hasan, conveyed the urgency of improving the quality of human resources for sports for persons with disabilities.
“This event is very special. Because we will develop special people (people with disabilities), and we will try to provide the best possible sports services for them. “Thus, improving the quality of sports human resources for people with disabilities is important,” said Ibnu Hasan when opening the event.

The training presents various important and interesting materials, including the Sports Policy for Persons with Disabilities in the Grand National Sports Design (DBON), the Sports Policy for Persons with Disabilities in the Regional Sports Design (DOD) of DIY Province, Introduction and Learning of Achievement Sports for People with Disabilities, Prevention and Handling Injuries in Disabled Sports, Psychology of Disabled Sports, Mental Guidance for Disabled Sports Human Resources, Models of Sports Activities and Small Games in Special Schools and Basics of Disabled Sports Coaching.

These materials were delivered by competent resource persons, namely DIY Sports and Sports Officials, Imam Kunantoro, National Badminton Trainer (Former Para Games Athlete), Shofital Jamil, S.Ft, MSc from AMPUTI; Kumala Windya, M.Psi from NPC DIY; and Dr. Rumpis Agus Sudarko, M.Si and Prof. Dr. Awan Hariono, M.Or from Yogyakarta State University (ih/tbs).
