Molde is at the top of the table after the narrow win away to HamKam – Dagsavisen

Last year, after two league rounds, Molde had not yet won a single match.

Molde started with 4-0 over Strømsgodset, but striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen was injured in the match. He is struggling with a muscle injury and is out indefinitely. He was missed at Briskeby, but then stopper Anders Hagelskjær stood up and decided the match with a long shot towards the end of the 1st half.

HamKam only managed 1-1 after a late equalizer from YMCA away from home in the series opener. This time the decisive goal came towards the end of the 1st half.

– I am satisfied with the first 40 minutes. We got a little too low in the last minutes and were punished for it, said HamKam coach Jacob Michelsen to TV 2.

Big HamKam chance

Molde had the most ball, but the chance statistics were more even. Oliver Kjærgaard had HamKam’s most dangerous opportunity after 20 minutes. However, his shot was a little too loose, and Jacob Karlstrøm was hit for a corner. The following corner was saved by Martin Linnes on the line.

Moderately satisfied

Molde coach Erling Moe was just so happy after the 1st half. After the match, he was satisfied that all the points were brought home.

– These war victories also taste good. They are good at getting us out of rhythm here. We stand well defensively in the air, but we must win the game based on the chances that are created. An approved match by us. Good to be able to go home with three points, Moe told TV 2.

Eriksen had another opportunity after 66 minutes when he came alone with Sandberg, but the goalkeeper was able to save. Eikrem missed the return.

The home team put in some form of a final sprint, but it was never quite dangerous in front of the opponent’s goal.

The sudden passing of HamKam player Archange Defringan Mondou “Akilla” in February was marked with a minute’s silence before the match.
