SRF program: “Mona in the middle” – and for once deep in the porn business

At least every second person watches porn, but those who work in the industry are looked at askance. Mona Vetsch got right into the business of naked skin for SRF.

  • Mona Vetsch was sent into the world of porn by the editorial team of “Mittendrin”.

  • When she meets the actors, she learns that they are completely normal people with completely normal needs.

  • However, they would like to be less excluded and their work to be more recognized.

“Looking the other way is not the way to deal with the porn industry”: This is Mona Vetsch’s conclusion at the end of the program “Mona in the Middle”. yesterday Wednesday evening was broadcast. But before making this statement, Vetsch had to deal closely with the porn business. With good reason: Although between half and three quarters of adults consume pornography, the actors are still looked at askance.

Her task initially takes the presenter to the Extasia erotic fair in Basel, where she can interview the Italian porn legend Rocco Siffredi. He mourns the golden times of the 90s, “when everything was real” and the actors were open to new ideas “and still had a lot of fun”. Today, says the 59-year-old, it’s “all about the money” and about collecting as many likes as possible and becoming famous quickly.

But many people still seem to enjoy their job today. At the trade fair, Vetsch meets Lyviane, who is showing off her charms on the Onlyfans platform. “I turned my hobby into a career,” she says. “And if you think it’s hot – even hotter for me!” she says – and exposes her breasts in front of Vetsch, which leaves her speechless for a moment. The woman from Aargau receives between 1,000 and 8,000 francs a month via Onlyfans. It is online for up to 14 hours.

“I really love what I do”

The German erotic actress Lena Nitro, who has been in the business for 15 years, also shares her wealth of experiences with Vetsch. Her main business is making porn, and at the trade fair she casually cuddles with people in the audience on stage. “I really love what I do. I love showing myself to people and seeing their reactions,” she says. For her, doing what she loves also represents feminism. And, she reveals this much: “You make a very, very good living from it.”

She also pays a lot of taxes for this, says Lena. She would like to be more open and not be put in such a dirty corner. It is “an impudence” to be hated by a society in which at least every second person consumes porn.

At the end of the show, Mona Vetsch travels to Germany for a porn shoot. The questions she asks leading actress Lena and producer Björn, who is also Lena’s private partner, reveal the couple and the actor Costas to be everyday people – just with somewhat looser morals. However, Mona herself stays outside while the Protangonists get down to business.
