In recent days, the Russian media have published the news that a monument to the late Serbian President Slobodan Milošević will be erected in Moscow’s Trg Evrope, which is in the wider center of the Russian capital. The two-meter high monument was made by our sculptor Dragan Radenović, who is recognized and appreciated in Russia because he is a member of the Russian Academy of Arts.

The members of the “Sloboda” association, admirers of the late president, failed in their intention to place Milosevic’s sculpture in Belgrade, so their Russian friends accepted the idea. The respected Moscow professor Dr. Marat Bashirov said that Slobodan Milošević predicted and said long ago what the West intends to do to “the rest of the world“, and this can be seen in the example of Ukraine.

Bashirov told Russian journalists that the monument to Milošević could be placed right on the square near the Kiev railway station in Moscow, where trains to Belgrade have been coming and going for decades.

The leader of the Russian bikers “Night Wolves”, Aleksandar Zaldastanov, better known as the Surgeon, said that they are ready to help transport the Milošević sculpture to Moscow and install it. “We will do everything necessary to transport the monument and place it in Moscow because Milosevic was a hero who gave his life for Serbia,” Zaldastanov said.

Russian media write that two years ago there were initiatives to erect a monument to Milošević in Belgrade, but this idea did not materialize. Otherwise, the authorities in the Russian capital will have the final word on the place where the monument will be placed. If it is indeed placed on the Square of Europe, it will be a great tribute to the late Serbian president. However, the Embassy of Serbia in Moscow has no information about the installation of the monument.

The Russian website “Carigrad” published a photo of Milošević’s sculpture, which, according to the idea of sculptor Dragan Radenović, holds a mask in his hand based on the face from Edvard Munch’s painting “The Scream”. In the text on this website, it is said that the defense of Slobodan Milošević was a warning to Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians about the duplicity of the West. It is pointed out that the monument to Milošević in Moscow would be the first of its kind because there is none in the country where he was born and where he was president. It is recalled that the trial in The Hague was not completed because Milosevic died in his cell before its conclusion.
