Morten Hegseth (37) will not be seen as presenter for the upcoming seasons of “Love Island”, he writes on Instagram.
“It’s not entirely easy to write, so I’ll get straight to the point: I’ve chosen to step down as presenter from “Love Island” and the reason is complex. The common denominator is that it has become too much, and now I will use time to calm down and make good choices. This is one of them,” he writes in the post.
Furthermore, the 37-year-old writes that he has made some stupid choices recently, which have not been well thought out, without going into more detail about what:
“I have run too fast and, in addition, made some stupid and ill-thought-out decisions for which I have deservedly been scolded. At the same time, it has been storming from all sides for a long time. Be that way because of their own idiocy or predictable pressure linked to TV exposure”.
In conclusion, he wishes the new presenter good luck, and writes that he will both laugh and cry from the sofa.
Morten Hegseth has not yet answered Nettavisen’s inquiries.
Hegseth led the second season of “Love Island Norway” in 2020.
TV 2 reports that it is Alexandra Joner (33) who will take over the job after Hegseth.
– We look forward to seeing her in the role of presenter of “Love Island”, says Rønningen to the channel.
