MotoGP, the highlights of the Le Mans race: Bezzecchi wins, then Martin. Out Bagnaia

by admin

Between contacts and sparks on the track, he finally came out Marco Bezzecchi which, obviously favored by accidents, hhe grabbed first place and moved back to second place in the world championship. With the competitive frenzy that marked him in the best moments, the Romagna rider sensed the opportunity and seized it, despite starting from the third row (“but today I got the start right”, he explained). Up front there were no sure protagonists: Bagnaia, overtaken by a furious Vinales, who had overtaken Marini and Bezzecchi in one fell swoop, then it was the Spanish rider from Aprilia; race over for both e almost brawl on the track (then a handshake closed the dispute). In the same round Luca Marini it then slipped involving the innocent Alex Marquez. If the safety commission wanted to crack down, threatening sanctions for every contact (but on Saturday they turned a blind eye to Marquez) at Le Mans, the VAR of the world championship had its work cut out. On the seventh lap, the Mooney VR46 rider took Marquez off the trajectory (“I entered a bit too generously…”) with a decisive overtaking and had to give up a position. Not to Marquez, but to Martin who in the meantime had overtaken his compatriot from Honda. But the Bez didn’t get upset and on the tenth lap he was in the lead, leaving the two Spaniards to contend with each other. From then on, the race for the first podium was over (“we’re fired up, I can finally cut my moustache…”). At the finish line Marco was over 4 seconds ahead of Martin, who overtook Marquez on the last lap, who then crashed. Marquez is the rediscovered protagonist, fast at the start, tough with everyone (since Saturday), combative as always when he smells the podium. In the last few laps his Honda broke down, the rear didn’t hold up enough and the French circuit (how many crashes this weekend) presented him with the bill.

Bezzecchi overtakes Binder: he is -1 from Bagnaia in the standings

Bagnaia followed the end of the race from his garage, dark face and sore ankle from the blow suffered, commenting on the images that re-proposed his accident with the equally disappointed Ducati technicians. There was an air of success before the start, Bagnaia felt it, he understood it after the podium in the sprint race. Over the distance he would have managed the tires well, as he knows how to do, and would have fought for first place. He remains first in the standings, but with only one point over his friend Bezzecchi that with the victory at the Bugatti has riscavalcato Binder. Ktm less explosive than on Saturday, the South African failed at the cannon start on Saturday and had to settle for sixth place behind Aleix Espargaróprima Aprilia at the finish. In front of him, fourth classified, the Augusto Fernandez surprise landed this year from Moto 2 in the Gas Gas team (a masked Ktm). The idol of the public Quarterly he ended up in seventh place, but the compatriot got on the podiumand Zarco (Marin’s teammate in Ducati Pramac).
