MSI gives up Radeon GPUs to focus on NVIDIA’s GeForce
MSI is one of the most important partner video card manufacturers
and other computer components in the world of hardware
. However, this week the Taiwanese company confirmed that its current focus is the production of NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, with an emphasis on the RTX line, while the relationship with AMD
it is stronger on the motherboard side.
This type of statement did not come out of nowhere. In your X account (old Twitter
), the channel YouTube
Hardware Unboxed questioned the fact that MSI does not have many products from the AMD Radeon line and indicated a possible cancellation of its Radeon RX 7000 products. The channel also asked about the lack of launch of certain products, such as Radeon RX 7700 XT e 7800 XT
.
Through a note sent to the HardwareLuxx website, MSI commented that it has not abandoned the production of AMD graphics cards. However, the brand admits its proximity and focus on producing NVIDIA RTX GPUs
maintaining its relationship with the strongest red team in the motherboard segment for Ryzen processors

“When it comes to graphics cards, our focus at the moment is more centered on RTX cards. However, the partnership with AMD is essential and extremely important for us. We see very positive development, especially in the motherboard segment” , reveals the MSI note sent to HardwareLuxx
The reasons for MSI choosing to work with more NVIDIA models aren’t entirely clear, but it’s not hard to imagine. The green team is always in the top ten places in Most used GPUs from Steam Survey
, making consumer interest pointed towards NVIDIA. AMD, although growing, still encounters more resistance from the gaming public.
Did I miss this story? MSI has been completely removed from AMD’s Radeon 7000 series, all existing products have been discontinued and they never released a 7700 XT/7800 XT. This all seems to have happened very quietly.

Regarding the lack of releases, MSI doesn’t really have models for the Radeon RX 7700 XT and RX 7800 XT. In fact, not even the RX 7600 XT launched at the beginning of the year was included
. However, the company works with more powerful models on its official website.
