The mother of Alexey NavalnyVladimir Putin’s main opponent who died in prison under unclear circumstances, visited his grave the day after the funeral in which thousands of Russians participated and risked arrest. Already present when the coffin was placed, the opposition leader’s mother, Lyudmila Navalnaya, visited the grave again early this morning, covered in flowers and wreaths, in the Borisov cemetery, south of Moscow.
She was accompanied by Alla Abrossimova, mother of Navalny’s widow. Yulia Navalnaya, the couple’s two children and Navalny’s brother live abroad and did not attend the funeral, where they could have been arrested for opposing the Russian president. Navalny’s widow has pledged to continue her husband’s work and in recent days she has repeated several times that Putin “murdered” her husband.
