Now she “speaks”.

«Hi all! Here I am back», Genoveva Casanova signs Instagram late Tuesday evening.

She does not mention the Danish king or specifically what is the background for the post.

«It’s been a few months where I’ve needed peace and quiet, but I’m now doing my best to gradually return to my normal life and fulfill my work obligations», explains the former model, actor and TV celebrity.

Frederik was not yet king when the pictures of him and Mexican-born Casanova appeared in the Spanish weekly Readings – and then the world went round.

The magazine reported, among other things, that the then crown prince and Casanova were at a restaurant and art exhibition together in Madrid, and alleged that the crown prince spent the night in her apartment.

Distanced

Casanova quickly came out against speculation about a romantic relationship, saying that she and Frederik are just friends.

«Any claim of this nature is not only without any basis in reality, but also misrepresents the facts and maliciously», the 47-year-old wrote in November.

At the same time, she informed that she demanded an apology from the magazine, and that she had appointed lawyers on the matter. Casanova also shared a photo of the lawyer’s letter on Instagram.

For a period she also deactivated Instagram.

King Frederik, for his part, has remained completely silent. Not long after the publication, the news also came that Danish Queen Margrethe (83) was to abdicate and leave the throne to her son.

Thanks for your support

Casanova, who has 80,000 followers on Instagram, thanks all the people who have cared for her over the past year.

«Those who have understood my absence and my silence, and those who have sent me messages of love and support. You can’t imagine how important it has been to me… Thank you from the bottom of my heart», she writes.

The 47-year-old also shares spring pictures of himself and his dog.

She has not received any apology from Lecturas.

The royal house is silent

Danish royal house experts came out before Christmas and believed that Frederik, who was then crown prince, had shown poor judgment – regardless of what had happened in Spain and what not.

On 14 January, Frederik became king.

The Danish royal house wrote in a short statement to Danes Extra Magazine in November that they would not comment on the cases about Frederik and Casanova.

«We do not comment on rumors and insinuations», read the message from the Court’s communications department.

Correction: In a caption in this article, King Frederik was mistakenly referred to as crown prince. This was corrected on 06.03.2024 at 15.19.
