NEW YORK — The banner planted on the lawn of the main courtyard of the Columbia University, which overlooks the library with the names of Cicero and Virgil carved in large letters, reads “Gaza Solidarity Encampment”. Despite the red paint dripping from the letters, it looks like the entrance to a peaceful camp, where solidarity is celebrated for the Gazans who are victims of the war.
