In a televised speech on Wednesday, she said that the time has now come to end the election campaign. After nomination elections in a number of states, Haley has only won in Vermont, as well as in the capital Washington DC
Haley wished her rival Donald Trump the best of luck, but did not clearly express support for him when she confirmed she is now stepping down.
– It is now up to Donald Trump to earn the votes of those inside and outside our party who did not vote for him. I hope he does, Haley said in the speech, which was held in Charleston in her home state of South Carolina.

Ask for support
The former U.N. ambassador and governor also said she had a desire to make sure Americans’ voices are heard.
– I have done it. I don’t regret anything.
A short time later, both Donald Trump and President Joe Biden called for support from Haley’s supporters.
Trump urged them to “join the greatest moment in our nation’s history.” Biden said there is room for Haley’s supporters in his campaign.

Super Tuesday
Haley threw in the towel the day after the so-called Super Tuesday in the United States. Then the Republicans and Democrats had nomination elections and nomination meetings in a total of 15 states.
While Haley won in Vermont, Trump prevailed in all the others. Among them were the populous and economically very important states of California and Texas.
– It’s a fantastic evening. They call it Super Tuesday for a reason, former President Trump said.
On the Democratic side, it was almost considered a formality to confirm that Biden will be the party’s presidential candidate. He made a clean slate with the exception of the territory of American Samoa.

Worked for Trump
Back in 2017, Haley was the UN ambassador in then-President Trump’s administration.
She left the Trump administration the following year. In February last year, she launched herself as a challenger in the battle to be nominated as presidential candidate for the Republicans.
Her election campaign got off to a slow start, but it picked up over the summer and autumn after several strong debates.
At the same time, she became increasingly critical of Trump. 52-year-old Haley has said at her election rallies that Trump is too old, she has questioned his mental state and said that “Trumpism” has been rejected by voters in recent years.
