Anders Behring Breivik, the bomber responsible for the deaths of 77 people in the attacks carried out in Oslo and on the island of Utoya on 22 July 2011, will remain in prison. This was decided by the Telemark court in Skien, which rejected the request for probation. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison, the maximum sentence in Norway, which can be extended if the accused is recognized as a threat to society. Last year the Oslo prosecutor denied him his release. According to prosecutor Hulda Karlsdottir, Breivik’s request to be released is just an attempt to draw attention to his far-right views. According to the judges, Nrk reported, Breivik has not changed since he killed 77 people in Oslo and on the island of Utoya in 2011, it cannot be established that he would not be violent. Attorney Øystein Storrvik announced that an appeal will be filed against the court decision.
