Number of clues “still manageable”

On July 5, 2022, at 11:22 a.m., an unknown person stormed a bank in Ruhstorf (Passau district). With a pistol in his hand, he threatens an employee and demands money. He gives the employees 30 seconds. On Wednesday, “Aktenzeichen XY” showed the case – now the police are hoping for new clues.

It has now been more than a year and a half since an unknown person robbed a bank branch on Ernst-Hatz-Straße in Ruhstorf (Passau district). The bank robber has still not been found. The investigators are therefore hoping that the broadcast of the case in the ZDF series “Aktenzeichen XY…Unsolved” on Wednesday will provide clues that will lead to the investigation of the case.

There was no live indication in the broadcast. But that’s not surprising, after all, the bank robbery in Ruhstorf was the last case shown under file number XY. The time until the end of the broadcast was probably too short for that.

The police are following up on leads

The day after, things look different: There are clues, “but still in a manageable number,” said Kathrin Hiller, press spokeswoman at the Lower Bavaria police headquarters on Thursday when asked by the PNP. These indications will now be followed up. In one or two weeks, “we will see whether this results in new insights,” says Hiller.

Reward of 3000 euros offered

The police hope that more tips will come in during the week. These can be received on the telephone number 0851/95110. A reward of 3,000 euros is being offered for information that leads to solving the crime.
