The ORF has not worked with Harry Prünster since the beginning of the year. After a final season of “Harry’s favorite Hütt’n” it was over, there have been no further contracts or commissions with Prünster since the turn of the year, the ORF informed the “Standard”.

You only play repetitions of Prünster formats in the program. This is relevant because Prünster is currently running in the election campaign with ex-ÖVP state secretary Florian Tursky, who is trying for the mayor’s job in Innsbruck with “das Neue Innsbruck”, which raises questions about the ORF’s independence.

Vera Russwurm already raised eyebrows last year when she moderated the start of the ÖVP Lower Austria’s election campaign. The ORF said at the time that the appearance did not require approval due to her limited employment as a non-programming freelancer in the entertainment sector.

Since part-time jobs of ORF employees or their social media presence often cause a stir, ORF boss Roland Weißmann had a new code of ethics drawn up. It should probably come into force in a few weeks via official instructions and prevent any incompatibilities.
