Former Valais UDC elected official Oskar Freysinger underwent a quintuple heart bypass surgery on April 17 at Sion hospital.
The politician’s heart had already been playing tricks on him for several years. “My first stents were placed in 2008, at the age of 48. Then, “step by step”, I ended up having thirteen,” he confides to our colleagues at Blick.
During a sealskin outing on April 5, Oskar Freysinger felt difficulty breathing and chest pain. Alarming symptoms which prompted him to quickly contact his cardiologist: “I called him before even taking off my skis,” explains the former politician.
“The good news is that as I have never had a heart attack, the heart muscle is intact,” says Oskar Freysinger who should regain all his abilities: “This time, the matter should be settled for twenty years at least!”
