Outlook: Enter vacation – this is how it works

When you have time off, you should not only set up automatic email replies at work, but also update your Outlook calendar. This way you can ensure that your colleagues see when you are absent and not available for meetings or similar. With Outlook Calendar, you can automatically decline meeting requests and share your vacation dates with colleagues.

1st step:

In Outlook, first select the calendar on the left side.

  • In Outlook, click on the left Calendar iconto open it.
  • Then click on the “” button on the left.a new event“.
  • Select “View as” die Option “Outside of the house” out of.
  • Also choose the calendarin which the vacation should be entered, via the Drop down menu next to the button “Save” out of.
  • Then give one title for the appointment, e.g. “Vacation”.
  • Use the selection boxes for that Start and end dates of your vacation and activate the toggle switch at “All day“.
  • Optionally create one News for everyone who sees your event.
  • Then click on ” at the top leftSave“. All people with whom the calendar is shared can then see your entered vacation.
