After the draw with Novorizontino, ‘verdão’ defeated Inter de Limeira in the Campeonato Paulista
Abel Ferreira’s Palmeiras beat Inter de Limeira, who played in Series D last season, by 3-2, in the early hours of this Thursday, in a game counting for the Campeonato Paulista.
‘Verdão’ drew against Novorizontino, from the second league, in round 1 of the Campeonato Paulista
Verdão, who had drawn with Novorizontino at the start of the competition, found themselves trailing in the 4th minute, with a goal scored by Juninho, but managed to turn things around before the break, through Raphael Veiga (20′, penalty, and 42′).
In the second half, Juninho scored twice and equalized, at 66′, converting a penalty, and equalized the score again. Rony, at 88′, made the final 3-2 in favor of Palmeiras.
Inter de Limeira ended up reduced to 10 due to Maurício’s expulsion, at 90+2′.
Pedro Caixinha also wins
Red Bull Bragantino, owned by Pedro Caixinha, also won their debut at Paulista. The Portuguese coach’s team defeated Portuguesa, 2-1.
Nathan Mendes (10′) and Sasha (30′) scored the goals for Red Bull Bragantino. Henrique Dourado (ex-Vitória de Guimarães), in the 74th minute, scoring a penalty, scored the Portuguesa’s goal.
