The clumsiest police officer in film history, Lieutenant Frank Drebin from “The Naked Gun,” is supposed to be revived. Liam Neeson will take on the star role of Leslie Nielsen in a new version. It has now been announced that Pamela Anderson will also play a leading role in the film.
Former “Baywatch” icon Pamela Anderson is joining the cast of the Paramount Pictures production, as the US trade publications “Deadline.com” and “Hollywood Reporter” reported on Tuesday (local time). Anderson posted one of the reports in an Instagram story. Paramount Pictures recently announced the film for July 2025.

Blondes for the “Naked Gun”
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Anderson (56) will play Frank Drebin’s love interest. In the original film series, the police officer, not always accident-free, pined over Pricilla Presley. Famous blondes are not new territory for the “Naked Cannon”: In the third part, “The Naked Cannon 331⁄3”, Anna Nicole Smith exuded platinum blonde charm. The three films “The Naked Cannon”, “The Naked Cannon 21⁄2” and “The Naked Cannon 331⁄3”, which combined high-class nonsense with slapstick, film history parodies and tons of visual gags, were released from 1988 to 1994.
For the new edition, former “Saturday Night Live” author Akiva Schaffer (“Hot Rod – Through Hell at Full Throttle”) is responsible for directing and scripting. “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane is on board as a producer.

Anderson rose to fame alongside David Hasselhoff in the 1990s series “Baywatch,” about Malibu lifeguards. She appeared in films such as Barb Wire, Scary Movie 3 and Superhero Movie. She also had a small role in the 2017 film “Baywatch,” starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Most recently, she worked on the Netflix documentary “Pamela: A Love Story” (2023). For some time now she has consciously given up the image of the sex symbol – she now only appears without make-up. Whether the script will address this remains to be seen.
