Over a thousand protesters, hostile to Olympics in Franceare demonstrating in the streets of Marseille, near the Aix Gate, for the arrival of the Olympic torch and the lighting of the brazier. Among them, also pro-Palestinian demonstrators, who wave flags and protest for Gaza. The police blocked the area to traffic. The demonstrators shout protest slogans for the ecological, social and economic consequences of the arrival of the torch in Marseille and for the Games in general. A large sign written in black letters and posted for days in the neighborhood reads: “JO 2024 ecological and social disaster”.
