Parma Returns to Serie A after 3 Seasons in Serie B

Roma, Beritasatu.com – Parma was promoted back to Serie A following a 1-1 draw against Bari, Wednesday (2/5/2025). They ended three seasons in Serie B of the Italian League.

Parma leads Serie B, three points clear of Como and seven clear of Venezia with two rounds remaining. The top two finishers will be promoted automatically, while the third to eighth places will enter a playoff round to determine the third promotion.

Bari, who are third from bottom, are at risk of relegation.

French striker Ange-Yoan Bonny put Parma ahead in the 50th minute. However, 40-year-old Valerio Di Cesare equalized for Bari to become the oldest goalscorer in Serie B.

Currently, Parma is at the top of the standings with 74 points. The Indonesian businessman’s club, Como, is also on the verge of promotion. Como has collected 71 points from 36 matches.

Parma, coached by Fabio Pecchia, has the right to move up to Serie A in the Italian League because they can no longer catch up with Venezia, who are in third place with 67 points. There are two matches left in Serie B.
