Surfer and former BBB Pedro Scooby announced an initiative to help victims of the recent floods in Rio Grande do Sul. Using his social networks, he announced this Sunday morning (5/5) that he had organized a team, including surfer friends, to travel to the affected region with the aim of carrying out rescues. Scooby and his companions, including surfers Lucas Chumbo and Iankel Noronha, prepared jet-skis for the mission.
Coordination effort
In videos posted on Saturday, Scooby detailed his motivation and the logistical challenges he faced. “I just arrived from São Paulo, by car, and I came on the road thinking, I called some friends of mine who are riding along with me, Chumbinho [Lucas Chumbo] Dear Yankel [Noronha]and we are willing to go to Rio Grande do Sul with jet-ski cars…”, explained the surfer.
He also appealed to his followers for information on how to access the hardest hit areas. “I tried to talk to people there, they said there is no way to get there. […] If anyone has any ideas on how we can get there to help, we have our jet-skis, cars, to get there whenever, send us a message”, requested Scooby.
Departure to the rescue
This Sunday morning, Scooby posted another video showing the moment his wife, Cintia Dicker, left him with his friends before starting the journey estimated at around 20 hours by car to the south of the country. “We managed to bring together the best big wave riders in Rio, we are taking jet-skis and heading south. I hope we arrive in time to help, it’s the least we can do”, declared Scooby, demonstrating his commitment.
