Police Inspector Renate Myhre Medby at the Oslo Police District informs this VG.

– That is a right he has, says Medby.

NTB has tried to obtain a comment from Amundsen, without success.

On Tuesday, it became known that the police opened an investigation after receiving several reports against Amundsen. The background is a Facebook post Amundsen wrote in connection with Women’s Day and subsequent comments in the comment field. There were several statements about Arabs, Islam and women.

On Sunday, he resigned as head of the justice committee.

FRP leader Sylvi Listhaug stated that Amundsen’s post was unacceptable and that it created reactions within the party. She thought Amundsen could not continue in his position as head of the committee, and thought it right for him to resign.

Amundsen himself has stated that he does not think he has done anything illegal, but that what he has done has been a burden on the party.

– I have written things on Facebook in a drunken state, using language that parliamentarians should refrain from. It does not reflect me as a person, Amundsen wrote in a message to NTB on Sunday.
