Bola.net – Borussia Dortmund managed to reach the 2023/2024 Champions League final. Thus, this match will be Marco Reus’ last match with Die Borussen.

Dortmund reached the Champions League final by eliminating PSG. They beat PSG 1-0 at the Parc des Princes in the second leg of the semifinals, Wednesday (8/5/2023) early morning WIB.

Dortmund secured victory at PSG headquarters through Mats Hummels. The German central defender broke through Les Parisiens’ goal with a header from a corner kick.

This victory advanced Dortmund to the Champions League final with an aggregate of 2-0. They previously won 1-0 in the first leg last week.

Dortmund finally returned to the Champions League final after 11 years. The last time they did it was in the 2012/2013 season at Wembley.

Reus has stated that he will leave Dortmund at the end of the 2023/2024 season. He decided to leave after serving almost 12 years at Signal Iduna Park.

Thus, the Champions League final will be Reus’ last match with Dortmund. This opportunity is like the most beautiful farewell gift for the 34 year old player.

Previously, Reus was part of the Dortmund squad that appeared in the 2013 Champions League final. However, they failed to become champions because they lost to Bayern Munich.

Reus has defended Dortmund since 2012 after being brought in from Borussia Monchengladbach. He has scored 169 and 130 assists from 426 matches for his current club.

Reus was a substitute against PSG. After the match, the player described his feelings after successfully bringing his team to the Champions League final.

“It’s indescribable. After more than 10 years, I’m back in the final with Borussia,” Reus told DAZN.

“Ousmane [Dembele] and Ashraf [Hakimi] had incredible speed and we suffered a lot. How we won the game, no one will ask tomorrow.

“A shot hitting the post won’t be a problem tomorrow. The important thing is that Borussia Dortmund are back in the final. Nobody expected this. It’s incredible.”
