The two companies also said that if necessary, they can launch a vaccine specifically against the Omi Keron strain in March 2022.
In late November this year, the World Health Organization listed the Omi Keron strain as a variant that requires close attention, but did not call on drugmakers to develop new treatments to deal with the virus.
