Dozens of hooligans invaded the pitch of the Papara Park stadium in Trabzon and attacked the visiting players with flag sticks, clubs, corner flags, and the players had to literally fight to defend themselves.

In the general chaos, several football players, such as the Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livaković, received blows to the head, and in the end, Dušan Tadić, Edin Džeko and other football players somehow managed to reach the dressing room with the help of the stewards, the police and even the local football players.

According to the latest information, the members of Fenerbahçe are still practically trapped in the stadium, and the police are waiting for the right moment to escort them to the airport from where they will fly to Istanbul.

New problems could await them right there, because videos of Trabzon supporters telling Fenerbahçe players to wait for them at the airport are already spreading on social networks.

In the meantime, the Turkish Minister of Sports and Youth, Osman Askın Bak, also spoke

“What happened at the Trabzon – Fenerbahçe match does not correspond to the spirit of friendship and brotherhood in sports. Competent authorities have already launched an investigation and we will follow further developments,” he said in his address.
