The police searched the vocational training center (BBZ) in Mölln for hours on Monday. A caller had previously reported an armed man in the school building. A suspect was not found.
During the police operation, the students had to lock themselves in their classrooms in the Mölln vocational training center (Duchy of Lauenburg district) and were gradually able to leave the building. The police then questioned her. According to police, the search was over at 3:50 p.m. Around 150 officers were on duty. According to the police, 1,500 students were affected by the operation.
Student reports gunman and suspicious noise
At around 9 a.m., the police received an emergency call that a student at the vocational school had seen a person carrying a firearm in his waistband. He also heard a noise that sounded like a gun being loaded. This was followed by a large-scale police operation. According to the police, the SEK was also requested. According to the district of Herzogtum Lauenburg, the school authority, the building was evacuated class by class. According to police, they were taken away from the school grounds by bus. Firearm in use? Background remains unclear
According to police, a suspect could not be identified during the search. The Duchy of Lauenburg district set up a hotline for relatives and a collection point for parents. According to the police, there were also care options there.
School runs on Tuesday – but without exams
Classes will take place regularly on Tuesday, as the school management of the vocational training center announced. However, proof of performance such as tests or exams should be avoided.
