Police: The four victims were preparing to commit suicide

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Penjaringan Metro Police Chief Commissioner Agus Ady Wijaya said the four suicide victims at the Teluk Intan Penjaringan Apartment had prepared themselves to carry out this reckless action.

“This preparation can be seen from their movements on CCTV before committing suicide,” said Penjaringan Metro Police Chief Commissioner Agus Ady Wijaya in Jakarta, Saturday.

He said that from the monitoring camera recordings, the four victims were from the same family consisting of a man with the initials AE and his wife AIL and their two children, a boy with the initials JWA (13) and a girl JL (16).

They came to Teluk Intan Apartments at around 16.20 WIB using a Grandmax car with plate number B 2962 BIQ.

The four then entered the lobby and went straight to the elevator. While in the elevator, AE kissed his wife AIL’s forehead who collected all the victim’s cell phones into her bag.

After getting out of the elevator they climbed the emergency stairs and arrived at roof top then jump from above.

“From our movements we concluded that this was a suicide that had been prepared together,” he said.

Police Commissioner Agus Ady said the family did occupy a room in the apartment but for the last two years they had not lived there.

“The initial conclusion was that the victim’s motive was suicide and we are carrying out further investigations,” he said

According to him, the four victims suffered serious injuries to their heads and fractures all over their bodies.

He said the four bodies had been taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital for a Visum Et Refertum.

“We are also securing witnesses for further questioning,” he said.

Previously, four people died after jumping from the 22nd floor of the Teluk Intan Apartment, Topas Tower, Penjaringan, North Jakarta on Saturday afternoon.

“The four victims allegedly jumped from the roof top of the apartment,” said Penjaringan Metro Police Chief Commissioner Agus Ady Wijaya in Jakarta, Saturday.

He said the four victims were a man EA (50), a woman with the initials AIL and two teenage boys with the initials JWA (13) and a teenage girl with the initials JL (16).

According to him, the bodies of the four victims were found by security officers guarding the apartment lobby.

The officer heard a loud bang and immediately approached and saw four bodies lying on their backs and reported it to the police.
