Through the Pope’s donation, the digging of wells will be launched in Moroto, Uganda. Fr. Kanovy, a missionary of the Kimbonni Mission in Apeitolim in the country, was pleased with this.

(Vatican News Network)Apeitolim, in the parish of Moroto, Uganda, wants to build a well, and Pope Francis donates 5,000 euros. His donation surprised everyone. The recipient was Father Marco Canovi, who served in Karamoja in northeastern Uganda for 50 years. In the name of the entire group, the Kimbonni missionary “deeply thanked” the Pope for his continuous concern for the poor and Africa.

Apeitolim is a semi-desert area, where the Karamojong ethnic group live mainly and depend on livestock for their livelihoods. In the most serious stage of the new crown epidemic, prisoners in Reggio Emilia Prison in Italy used Gens Nova’s volunteer Ms. Anna Protopapa to sew for children in the Apeitolim Mission District Masks. Currently, after Father Canovi called for the construction of a well in his village, the non-profit organization is also raising funds for this initiative.

Regarding the construction of the wells, Father Cavino explained to this news website that the construction of the wells is to provide water to the local area and to end the long journeys of women and children in Amal, Karova Kanel and Apeduru as soon as possible. Go to fetch water. In the local area, the first usable water well is 5 kilometers away from the place of residence.

Regarding the Pope’s donation, Cavino went on to say that he was the first to share the news with his family. The next morning, at the beginning of Mass, he told the faithful that the Pope cares about them. The priest said, “This is a fatherly act, a blessing and help. I hope people will feel this every time they go to the well to draw water.”

Father Cavino said that after learning of the Pope’s hospitalization, we gathered together many times to pray together. “We are willing to express our deep gratitude.” This gratitude is our fervent prayer for this father before God. Father Cavino finally said, “This father misses us, helps us, gives us strength, and encourages us not to be afraid and not to feel lonely”.
